Forbidden Gardens...... - 08-07-2009, 11:23 AM

OK before anyone blows-up at me......I decided to post this here first to see if there is any interest...

I have talked with the Management at Forbidden Gardens to set-up a group shoot at there place of business between Monday - Thursday...as long as they don't have another group at the time...we can take pictures and have a blast there...all they ask is for a group of shots from us...(with your logo's) that they might be able to use later...

Forbidden Gardens

Cost $5.00 per person...you bring your own drinks and food...(no messy stuff)

I would like to schedule starting about 9am/10am and finish about 1pm/2pm and go for lunch somewhere close...

Dates: I would like to do this in Sept. or Oct. and this is the reason for my post here...I would like feedback from people about times that might work for them....

Equipment...what-ever you want...I will bring my Tripod and probably a rolling bag that will hold all my stuff...

This would be a great for Macro photography and will let you be creative...

Please let me know what would work for you...and once we have a good firm date I will post this in the TPF event calendar...I will also post this on several of the other sites...but since I use TPF more we get to set this up...!!!

Thanks all for looking....

Why would anyone blow up at your idea?
I'm interested if the dates work out for my schedule as well.

Okay - I'm ashamed to admit that I live in Katy... drive past that place a few times a week - but have NEVER been.....

I'm interested. At least it'd be a short drive! ;-)

I'm interested, if I'm not working the day it is scheduled. Won't know until the time comes, though. Schedule away!

Question is will they do a proctored time limited visit like they usually do?
Last time I went with a photog group, we had to be accompanied by the tour guide and could not spend alot of time at each exhibit. If we wanted more time (like at the terracotta warriors), we had to go back on the next tour.

Brian,

This is not a tour...they are just opening up the facility to let us take pictures....if people want a tour I can set that up....I figured most would not so I asked I we could do a free for all...I did not want to do the tour thing...just because I like to take my time.....I was thinking about 4 to 5 hours for this whole thing...should be enough time...the place is not that big...but it is interesting...I have been twice...

I hope this answers your questions...We will set this up where there is no general public around...I did not want to have to worry about my equipment...

I thought about going once but I think it was going to cost me and the family close to $50. I guess you can tell we haven't gone.

Sounds way better than $50. I missed the Katy GTG the other night so maybe a reminder would be a good idea.

I'm in for $5 on 10/5 (I hope - work can always change things, right now the date is open).
