That kinda got under my skin a bit..... How is she doing this, and pulling it off? And sleeping at night?

She's a hack and should be prosecuted IMHO. As far as this being "art"... This type of ground was broken back in the 60's and 70's. Nothing really new here. Yawn. I know.... how do I really feel.

I used to work for a local print shop and they asked me to design a banner with an image of fried fish on it. The client is a mom&pop fish market and they don't have any images to go with it and only have $150 for the whole deal.
So i told him the cheapest way is to locate and buy a usable fried fish image from istock, that would cost them about $5. The Print shop refused to pay the extra cost and pursued me to use any free image i could find from the web, namely google image it. He could careless about copyright issue and said will responsible for any legal issues if the owner managed to find the stolen image in a local fish market!!
Any designer would probably go with that but being a photographer, i advised the print shop to send his client over and see the image quality then i would explain the legal issue there. I bet they would pay the extra and they did. In fact, they actually paid for an additional image from istock to go with the banner.

She's a nut. She says the "photography" session represents "American kids" "who seem to encounter war and violence" "kind of a male aggression"...
How does kids spraying ketchup on you represent anything other than a mess and some distorted message that only a whack job could twist into "male aggression"?
Another artist that thinks more highly of herself and her "work" than others do.
Oh yeah, and a thief! Steel images from Google, blow them up, print them and show them in an "art gallery". Gee with that mentality I could be a Picasso!

This is the kind of garbage that passes for modern art, and is exactly why the average American has little interest in the arts.

This kind of thing is exactly why my images are watermarked. If Orphan Works passes the House -- it already passed the Senate -- it will be extremely easy for other people to take your work and even copyright it in their own names. I've read rumors that Google itself and other companies are sweeping up images from the internet for possible future use if the bill passes.

Got a response back. They basically said that they didn't represent her, have not heard anyone claim their images were stolen by her, and made the claim that "artists say lots of things". It was a one day show and she is now long gone as it concerns this gallery.
