Disappointed in the Post Office again - 08-15-2009, 09:51 AM

I guess with as many packages as I receive at my PO Box, it was bound to happen.

I'd ordered a custom made product from a vendor in Florida.
He mailed it to my PO Box on Monday.
The tracking info says the item was delivered on Wednesday.
I never got the package.

There's no way to correct the problem unless the package just happens to re-appear because the PO says it was delivered to my box. My box is too small to hold a package, so it must be somewhere.

I went to the PO today and they looked but couldn't find it and basically blew me off.

So I'm now out $50 and will likely have to re-order the item.

Sorry to here about the missing package Cpt. Tom. You must live in the rural part of town if the post office does not deliver out there. I had my share of bad PO run ins. Once I was tracking a package through their system. At one point in the afternoon, the PO web site stated that they did not know where the package was. I did a print screen of the page. Later that evening, the page stated the package was in route. I waited a few more days and no package.

I forwarded the print screen to the vendor and they made good. I think the post office had to pay up because they admitted to loosing the package.

I-M-P.....;)

We live in the rural part of our town and the mailman usually comes up to my house and honks his horn if he's got a package too big to fit in my mailbox. Well a few months ago we ordered a Wii and instead of honking his horn, he left it beside the mailbox in the road!!!! Couldn't believe someone didn't steal it or run over it. We were livid, to say the least, and loudly complained to the postmaster. Even he was surprised they did that.

Hope you get it resolved!

Tom, I've had similar problems with the PO before. You have to get nasty with them before they will even attempt to help you. Your package is probably sitting on the floor in the back somewhere and they are too lazy too look. Sorry if there are any PO employees here, but just speaking from my experiences.

Dan, I'll give them some credit because when I went there this morning they seemed to be spending a good effort to locate the package. They took my phone number and said they'd look some more.
The problem is that once it's marked 'delivered' they don't feel there is any more liability on their part.

I completely understand you...I live out in the boonies.. :)...and so I have to get my mail delivered to the PO since they don't deliver out here...and the PO gets kind crabby if you get something that doesn't fit into your mailbox...which happens alot between me and my husband...
