What a fool.
He's such a drama-queeen, attention whore. Managed to trash his remaining legacy by insisting on being in the limelight.
He's like a 3 year old kid who demands whatever attention he can get, and scream and cries until he gets it.
He just can't stand that the media stopped talking about him so he continues his dramatic antics year, after year, week, after week.
I will laugh for the rest of his life as he continues to fail at whatever he endeavors to do. I can't wait to hear him whine in the years to come as he gets snubbed from the Hall of Fame.
His life will always be like one giant interception as he becomes the butt of every NFL joke.

You must be referring to this article in SI? http://www.fannation.com/si_blogs/nf...l-already-done
As long as someone is willing to pay, he'll play. Though, I'd think it's a bit late if he is to be a starter for the vikes

I'm not a Packers fan, and not really even a Favre fan, but he will be in the Hall there's no doubt about it. And he'll more than likely be a first ballot entry.

What has he done in the last two weeks to put himself in the spotlight?
The guy has played football non-stop since he was in middle school, if not younger. Now he is getting too old to play and it is hard to let go. I can't fault him for that. It has been his entire life for 30 years and he can't play anymore, that sucks. It is hard for lots of athletes to hang up the cleats.
I don't think that is any kind of fail. He was one of the most brilliant quarterbacks ever.
If you want to blame someone, blame the ESPN/SI hype machine.

i HATE FAV-RE! It stems from my bitter days of growing up in Minnesota.
I can respect his love for the game of football. But, someone give the man a quarterback coaching job. Or he could coach the cheerleaders.
I say this every year, but this will most likely be his last. He has about 3 good outings a year, the rest has no consistency at all. Unless you count hanging duck farts as a critieria, then you could count him as consistent.

Unless you count hanging duck farts as a critieria, then you could count him as consistent. | Last year Favre was 9th in TDs thrown. Ahead of guys like Mat Cassel, Eli Manning, Chad Pennington, Ben Rothlisberger, Matt Ryan, Matt Schaub, and Jake Delhomme.
Last year Favre was 11th in yards. Ahead of guys like Tony Romo, Matt Ryan, Ben Rothlisberger, Jake Delhomme, Eli Manning, and Matt Schaub.
Last year Favre was 5th in completion percentage. Ahead of guys like Philip Rivers, Drew Brees, Aaron Rodgers, Mat Cassel, Jay Cutler, Tony Romo, Matt Ryan, Donovan McNabb, Eli Manning, and Ben Rothlisburger.
He did throw his share of ducks, but that happens with any pure gunslinger like Favre. And he still had a better rating than Ben Rothlisberger.
Favre is obviously still playing at a very high level, although it is nothing compared to his peak a decade ago. He is still better than most QBs in the NFL.
And those "3 good games a year" - Favre had a rating over 100 in 5 games last year. He killed NFC Champion Arizona with 24-34 for 289, 6 TDs and just 1 INT in week 4. But he clearly ran out of steam at the end of the year. He is old, it happens. I'd still rather have him than most NFL QBs, and obviously a lot of GMs agree or he wouldn't even have the option to come back.

who btw was Jay Cutler...the so called messiah in Chicago.
15th in yards/game
10th in sacks
His QB rating on the season? 21st in the league.

if he is such a failure why does he hold all the records? He is not a failure, but I do agree he needs to stay retired and enjoy the rest of his life off the field.

Favre's QB rating isn't even in the top 10, and barely squeeks by Brian Griese's.
Favre also holds the all-time interception record and is one of the losingest quarterbacks in NFL history.
He will soon hold the record for # of retirements and probably already holds the record for number of hours crying on national television whilst anoucing yet another retirement. I will laugh in a few months when Favre halds his third annual retirement press conference.. only to want to resurrect his mediocre career again.
Given enough time and number of attempts, even a room full of monkeys banging away at a keyboard can throw as many interceptions as Favre.

A lot of guys find their identity in their profession. Pro athletes are no different. Athletics teaches discipline, and that should carry over right into the act of retirement. Be disciplined enough to do it. None of us stay young forever.
