Anyone been? We are going in October to South Australia (Adelaide and Sydney) and wondered if anyone had any "Must see" locations or places to see or photograph? Thanks

Of course you must take the mandatory shot of the Sidney Opera House.

If you feel adventurous, you could try to visit Pine Gap. I almost got a job there once long ago. I hear the road in is now paved.

Used to live in Sydney, but I'm sure it's changed so much since I lived there. The Opera House is beautiful. Not sure if they still have them, but it was really cool to take a hydrofoil in the harbor. There are also some beautiful beaches nearby. Other than that, unfortunately, I can't really think of any of the names of places. I know you used to be able to walk across the Sydney Harbor Bridge, and artists used to paint underneath it. In fact, Paul Hogan used to be a painter under the bridge when I lived there (that says how long ago it's been). As a kid, I also loved Skippy National Park, but that's a kids kinda place, I think. It's really a beautiful city, though.

Texas can exist without the United States, but the United States, cannot, except at great peril, exist without Texas. Sam Houston.

October there should be spring time, so probably lots of flowers to shoot that we don't see here. I am sure they have a botanical garden there

I have nothing to add except Australia quotes!

"Maybe a dingo ate your baby..."

"Now THAT's a knife..."

"Oh, Austria? G'day mate! Throw another shrimp on the barbie..."

Hmm, typing it's just not the same as saying it with the accent.

Australia is on my "wish" list. But, I have a friend who used to date a Sydneysider. She particularly enjoyed visiting the Blue Mountains. Bill Bryson's book In a Sunburned Land (well, that's pretty close at least to the actual title) has lots of interesting (some may say strange, unusual, or offbeat) things to see. He's one of my favorite travel writers.
