Does it have glass? What sizes do you buy?

Aaron Brothers is awesome and always seems to be having a sale. There are a few near you according to the Web site. They are owned by Michael's (another OK choice), but they have a much better selection in my opinion. Aaron Bros. also offers custom framing, etc.

Lonnie - if you'll check out Garden Ridge - usually they have an 'ugly art' area where you can pick them up. I am a big garage sale fanatic - and am always picking up different ones here and there. What size are you looking for in particular?

Hobby Lobby is another option as well.

Another vote for Aaron Brothers. In fact, I picked up a couple of 20x24 today and ordered some mats that they didn't have in stock.

Hobby Lobby - one week they have one type of frames half off, the next week another type and the next week mat boards. Then the cycle starts again. Check their ad on the web or Sunday paper/

Thanks for all the great ideas. I just printed some 16 X 20's so with the mat I guess about 24 X 20.

I get some good quality frames from Michael's and they have several choices for 20x24" frames.

I know this isn't going to do you a darn bit of good 'now' - but this year at Texas Photo School - I picked up 16x20 frames for $10 each. I bought glass at Lowes (16x20) for $5 each. I mounted the images/taped the back myself. They are gorgeous, if I do say so myself! ;-)

I wasn't prepared for the low price on the frames - it was my first year - but oh boy - next year - I'm gonna be prepared for that!

for the next time, Michael's, Hobby Lobby, Aaron Bros, Garden Ridge, even Kohl's.. all have good functional frames in those sizes, AB having the best selection (they are part of Michael's corporately-speaking). All the ones I've bought there (the 5) have glass, altho rarely is it non-glare if that matters. I've often found 20x30 simple wood frames w/glass at these places for under $20.

All but Aaron Bros has "cheap art" that Tony mentioned. I, too have used it numerous times, from 10x10 to 24x24 and up. It almost always has glass but it can be tricky to get it apart and back together and still be presentable. Those Chinese didn't put it together with the idea that someone might want to take it apart and re-use it, sometimes the 'art' (and I use the term loosely..) is simply glued in place, you ain't gonna save it!

I usually go to Aaron Bros. for their 2 for 1 sale and pick up a bunch. But if not there, I often order online here:
http://www.framing4yourself.com/
They will cut custom sizes, have a choice of regular or non-glare plexiglass, which is cheaper to ship than glass, and on the bigger frame jobs you'll want to use plexi instead of glass for weight reasons. I get all my mat board from them too, 12 at a time in a special shipping container.
