HOME RULES... when you have a 2 year old... and 12 year old... "my reality!" Always be honest: "Yuckkie!" (Spits out the dinner I just fixed) - 2 year old. "I put bleach in the washer (colored clothes!)) - 12 year old Count your blessings: I'm glad you work from home.... when I forget something, you can just run it to the school! Bear each other’s burdens: Mom, I forgot my lunch.... (12 year old).... Poo Poo... (2 year old!) Forgive and forget: "I know I forget to brush my teeth... but I'm responsible enough to do this!" (12 year old).... "More fish" (after she dumps her goldfish crackers on the carpet for the dog to enjoy) (2 year old) Be kind and tender hearted: Mom, could you PLEASE get her off me? (12 year old about the 2 year old) Comfort one another: "Sorry I knocked over your Starbucks - want my hot chocolate?" 12 year old "Here mommy" - hands me the chewed up chicken nugget - 2 year old. Keep your promises: "I promise I'll do it right after I finish this <insert any show on Disney>" Be supportive of one another: "Mom, I think you need to get the new 3GS I phone... can I have yours?" Be true to each other: "My mom is pretty strict - she makes me take a shower or a bath EVERY day!" (overheard by 12 year old on her phone) Look after each other: "Mom... Sarah is eating the dog food!" Treat each other like you treat your friends but most important… 2 year old grabs 12 year old's cell phone and runs away with it... and hides it..." Love one another deeply from the heart This....we can do!
