Hello. Newbie, here...
I understand about typical photo contests and NOT paying to participate, but I'm coming at this from a different direction, and am considering "hosting" one for a fundraiser for a marathon I'm running for the Leukemia, Lymphoma Society (thru Team in Training). Does anyone have suggestions on how to hold this? Obviously, it's not anything for "serious" photographers, but it was a good fundraising suggestion for amateurs, or someone to just have fun with, and donate to a good cause while they are at it.
My thought is to ask for a $10 "donation" to enter, and then have local pro's judge when the contest is over (or any of you, if you are willing to play along). As a matter of fact, I'm heading over to HCE to see if they'll donate anything for prizes.
Am I in the wrong place here, or do any of you have suggestions (other than jumping off the proverbial bridge)?
Thanks! | | | |

Thanks! | The key is in the legal wording. Be sure to specify the Photographer retains all rights to their image and is granting your organization the right only to display the image as part of the fundraser, or something to that effect. | | | |
