Anyone using a LED TV for your PC monitor on HDMI? - 08-24-2009, 08:56 AM

Anyone using a LED TV for your PC monitor on HDMI?

I hooked mine up and it looks too grainy.

I’m using Vista 64 bit with a Radeon HD 4670 video card.

Any input will be appreciated.

Thanks

Never tried it...
I have some LED and LED DLP TV's in the house that I might mess with.
You going HDMI or is there an actual DVI or VGA connection on it?
Mine have all 3.

LED Tv is nothing but an existing LCD-based TV with LED-illuminate to maintain brightness lost in long run, the issue you are having has nothing to do with the new gimmick.

This first thing i would look is what signal is being fed? try sending 1080/60hz from your PC then check on the display feature if you have anything like DVI/HDMI - PC signal to tell your display not to process the signal and let's it pass at 1:1 mapping. Also, if there's option to extend color (space) , check that so it pass PC level rather than the restricted studio level for movie.

I asked the question to soon. I started looking at my photos and they look great. I realized that it was the crappy screen saver photo that came with the computer.
Turns out to be a very sweet set up so far. (46 inch LED)

I have been using a 46" LCD TV attached to my laptop for editing in Photoshop. The color and clarity is excellent. The only issue I have is the text and menus in photoshop are small, changing to large fonts distorts the image.

Thanks for the input Glen. It’s nice to know someone else is doing this and it’s working great for you. I haven’t had much time to check mine out yet.

LED TV is HDMI 1080p:
