I have often considered the shipping container type of house for my self. Back in Indiana on the river, they were often used as river camps. The Ohio river in Evansville varied from a summer time level of 13ft to as much as 47ft in the spring. We would use the shipping containers placed on piers then when the spring floods would come they were easy to move out on flatbeds, and they were much more secure than a travel trailer.
