I was looking for a 5D on ebay I came across this very curious listing:

I had a similar listing for a Canon 1d MKIII priced roughly around $200 with only 13hr remaining.

The thing that really caught my attention was the request not to ask seller questions using the usual ebay link but rather send a direct e-mail to the seller.

So out of curiosity I did send an e-mail, and immediately I got an offer to do a BuyItNow using some Ebay Program, I just needed to give him my full name and shipping address.

I didn't reply back after that, it was just too stinking fishy, but then it got me thinking maybe it is legit? Considering that MS just reinstated the Bing Cash back program.

What do you guys think?

Scam. Be very careful, think about the motivation to not use ebay communication channels, and the immediate push for buy it now.

Smells like a scam to me.

Seller has the 5D kit you're asking about, a 1D MKIII and a Leica M8... all have the same BUY IT NOW for $1350... run, very fast

I just looked at the sellers previous items sold and he/she had never sold any camera related gear nor any item as expensive as the ones he/she is currently selling.

Definitely a scam or worse the sellers account might have been hacked or ebay has been compromised again.

After poking around the things that I know to poke around...
#1, RUN... looks like 16 others have been duped into "bidding" on that camera...
#2, I think someone's eBay account has been hijacked.

For some reason 100% of the feedback and previos items "sold" are all BOOKS of one flavor or another. I have even gone back for the past month and can find zero electronics sold by this seller.

However if you look at their 38K items listed to sell... there are a lot of electronics, and other stuff (JVC HD Video Cams for 2.75..... 50" Pioner Plasmas for 3.87.... etc.) all of those listings all contain the SAME body text fo the description and the same image based text of "contact me before bidding".

If you get one of the BOOK listings, then you get a REAL listing:

Not to mention that their REAL location is : Grand Rapids, MI, United States; NOT in NJ as listed with the Electronics.
