Cool Shameless bragging... - 09-05-2009, 11:40 PM

I turned 36 last week - and we had a get together this evening - my husband does a pretty good job getting me gifts - but this year - he hit one way out of the park.

Intuis 4 Tablet - the LARGE one!!! I've got the Bamboo tablet - so this is a major upgrade!!! I was TOTALLY not expecting this.

Seagate 500 GB External Harddrive
and a 3 Bay Hot Swap Rack
And a Starbucks gift card... *yeah baby!*

My MIL gave me a 'as seen on t.v.' steamer thing - so that I can steam my backdrops! (Ain't she supportive!)

So I'm shamelessly bragging on him.... he did good! ;)

Cool! My daughter just bought an Intuos 4 (medium sized, 8x6), and it arrived today. She's been playing with it all day, but I finally got to mess with it some tonight. It beats the snot out of the $30 no-name I bought from woot.com.

Cool hubbie ya got there!

Congrats and Happy Birthday!

A couple of questions....

Did you like the Bamboo tablet? What do you like about the Intuous unit?

I'm thinking of getting a Wacom tablet but am wondering if the differences on paper mean much in real life.

Congratulations Donna. Your husband sounds fantastic.

The answer to your question is "Production". If you use the tablet several hours a day then the hot keys and customizability make them well worth the price. If you average less than six hours a week in PS you probably won't see a ROI, but you will still enjoy all the neat features. I started with a basic 4X6 and upgraded to a 6X8 Intuous 3. I love it.

Can you name the movie the quote is from? QUOTE]

Is it from the Blues Brothers movie, Lonnie? Probably not, but that is my first guess. :)

Happy BD Donna. I wish I can brag too but I have nothing to brag about. It is great to have good supports from you family on what you do.

*grin* Ben - I can't say I'm always wise enough to realize that - unfortunately we are two imperfect people, in an imperfect marriage doing the best we can. Sometimes I have more grace... sometimes he does... sometimes we go to our separate caves and spend time cooling down. But we made a promise - I don't quit on him, he won't quit on me - and there is an amazing amount of security that comes from that.

Thanks for the bday wishes!
