Disclamer: This is NOT the Captain....
The good news is I did get some great shots, the bad news is this has been chewing at my psyche, so I've got to vent.
So it's not the golden hour, I've gotten up early in the morning on vacation, traveled a long ways to get a photo of "the most photographed barn in America", there are 4 other photographers obeying the whole "don't get close to the wildlife" rule, all of us excited that the lighting is pretty good for as late as it has gotten, and the herd of bison is crossing in front of the barn - great photo opp.
This &#^%@$%#$ comes driving up, gets out of his truck, and well, see for yourself. I left after 20 minutes, leaving one guy there hoping that he'll be able to finish shooting. My first thought was how low is this guys self worth if he's willing to stand in the middle of a bunch of bison - that have already come close to stampede as he bumbled his way over?
Obviously my fellow frustrated shooter opted to not "just blow my horn and see who runs faster" because the next day this same guy walks and stops in front of me as I'm trying to shoot a mother moose and it's youngling. My wife and the presence of my kids is the only reason this guy didn't get a new 70-200 lens - embedded in his skull.
Based on the fact that he was carrying two bodies and some serious glass, I'm presuming he was a professional photographer - but even if he wasn't, what happened to simple manners?
Venting off ~
