Finding/Looking at Building's BluePrints Online... Anyone know where to find them? - 09-10-2009, 12:14 AM

I am looking in to buying or renting a new building for a studio. Roughly 4500 square feet - stand a lone building.

I know in my past life as a CSI nerd there were websites open to the general public which allowed me to view the general rough blueprint of buildings including homes.

However searching all day for the life of me I can not find this site....

Does anyone know of a place like this?

I really want to check out the space to make sure it would be something worth going after for our new studio.

THANK YOU!

Aww, I was hoping to hear of an ambitious bank-heist plan...

I have designed and built seven studios over the last 35 years and I have helped several others do the same. You don't have to make all the mistakes that I did. It's all about workflow. Let me know if I can help out.

I use to go to the local county appraisal district website and you would put in an address and it showed you the floor plans and any information you wanted to know about the building. Since 9-11 they have taken the plans off the site so they are no longer visible.

Many local Tax Appraisal Districts used to put floorplans and even pics of properties online for searching. But privacy zealots cried out about this and many states have made it illegal to post those images/plans online (I think Texas is one of them, not sure).

Also just try googling the address, you never know if a former resident or real estate agent put them up, and you might find it still online or cached somewhere.
