Exclamation Just when things can't seem to get worse.... - 09-16-2009, 11:28 PM

Ok, the past 2 years have been terrible for me and my fiance. Starting with my then (now ex) wife leaving me and taking my kids to Virginia in 2007, things have steadily gone down from there. Unable to land and keep a job that will pay the bills, I was forced to file bankruptcy a year ago, and lost the house to foreclosure as a result. For the last year we have been living with a family in Dallas and doing housecleaning and cooking dinner in exchange for room and board. Well, that arranngement has been working tenuously for a year now, but another monkey wrench just got tossed in. Seems the man's 19 yr old daughter just got pregnant, engagee, and evicted all in the course of a month's time. So, they (she and fiance) are moving in... which means we have been asked to move out, as there is just not enough room for everyone. They haven't given us an ultimatum or a set eviction date, just said that our services were no longer needed and how soon could we be gone? So, we are scrambling to find a solution. I lost a week of work this month due to a flare-up of a chronic back injury this month, so we are not even going to be caught up on the bills we have (car/ins/storage) until Nov 1st at best. That being said, I don't think they will be happy for us to stay that long. If anyone knows a place where 2 adults and 2 cats can hang for 2 months until we can get something else working, please let us know! We can do some work in exchange if needed, or simply pay it back, or pay it forward. I would expect we'd be able to get on our own feet by Christmas at least, and even sooner if we can get good jobs soon. I have a decent job, but really need something paying a bit more due to child support eating a huge chunk every check, and she has been cleaning/cooking here and so has need of a job too. We want to be somewhere near Arlington to Fort Worth eastside. Any help/suggestions/links to services would be much appreciated.

thanks,

Anthony and Lora

I might be able to offer you a room, but I'm in East Plano.

Don't ever say things don't seem like they could be worse. The last time I said that.... well.... it was followed by two funerals, several operations, a couple of court appearances, and one more call to hospice. It may seem tough, but it sounds like you have your life, health and a loved one to share it with. That seems like something to be thankful for even when the rest stinks. Good luck to you.
