Question Trash the suit - 09-18-2009, 08:28 PM

OK, yesterday I met a friend for lunch at Dicky's BBQ. I thought I had hold of the tray but wound up covered in BBQ sauce before I could get to the register. I took my suit to the dry cleaner today but the jacket is ruined.

With all the talk about "Trash the Dress" on nbc5i.com yesterday, the thought occurred to me. How many of you guys trashed a $700 suit?

I have the suit, any photographer out there up for the challenge? Jedditingon? Captain Tom? Sherese?

I am serious. I'm willing to give up this one suit to a worthy cause.

Sorry guys. There was a combination LNOK (loos nut on keyboard) and ID10T error last night. Problem fixed with a good night sleep and `sed /suite/suit/g`.

No offense taken here. Kinda chuckled when I recognized mistake. <sheepish grin>

not a bad idea. i think it would be fun. we have guys tag along on TTD shoots in their tuxes. we dont light them on fire or anything, and as long as a rental tux returns in 1 piece, they'll usually be all to happy to go the session with their bride. its fun.

honestly, id do it, but im swamped for the next month or so. hope someone takes you up on it. ;o)

The only proper way to dispose of a ruined suit, much like a retired American flag, is to burn it (please, not while it is on your person). I suggest taking it out in the woods and doing so. Whether you invite photographer friends along to capture images of the event is up to you.

Actually, it could make some interesting shots ... coming out of a lake, going through a car wash in a top-down convertible (a simultaneous "trash the car" session). Maybe wear it while bass fishing, etc.

Anything less than BURNING the suit WHILE WEARING it = FAIL.

Gee, I wonder how many here know what 'sed' is. One of the first editors I learned on a vt100 terminal connected to a VAX 780 running BSD Unix in the 80s.
