Getting ready for a home birth

My wifes contractions are getting longer, stronger and closer together (about time too, we're overdue by a few days) so its time ti start setting everything up. I was in the air force and couldn't get home for the birth of our first so I'm excited about being here to catch this one. We didn't find out the sex so this going to be an awesome surprise! Wish me luck!

Alright, so no baby yet, but the wife is finally getting some much needed sleep. We are thinking late tonight or very early tomorrow morning, but who knows, this baby is being stubborn!

I would think that giving birth to a home would be even worse than passing a kidney stone.

I am pretty damn sure that if I pick up a camera during the birth I will be stabbed. But I have a roll of tri-x loaded, a point and shoot in my pocket and the tripod ready to go for after the birth, I am pretty sure she will be too wiped out cause me any serious harm.

maybe a discretely placed camera with a remote.. don't use flash, she will figure whats going on.

Stella Elaine Carr, born at 6:02 pm Sept. 22, 2009. It was an incredible experience, I caught the baby and got to cut the cord. I am so proud of my wife also, she did the whole shebang with no drugs and without punching me :). I'll post some pictures later.

Nothing to really look forward to, just a couple snap shots for now. My other daughter managed to hide my camera though so no pics yet...

We did a home birth with our second child, and it was one of the most amazing experiences of my life. Your post really reminded of that. I can just image how you are feeling right now!
