Another Help Me Decide Thread. - 09-22-2009, 11:01 AM

I been shooting with a nikon d90 and I like the camera, but like most of us would like to upgrade to a full frame camera.
Should I keep the camera and the lenses (17-55mm f2.8,tokina 11-16 f2.8) and use it as a second body, and buy the d700 and buy FX lenses?
Or sell the d90 and the lenses to finance the full frame equipment and just have everything FX?
And lets say that right now, money is not an issue.
Thanks for your input.

since $'s not an issue, buy the d700 and a FF lens (i.e.- 70-200mm, f/2.8 VR) and take it for a test drive. If you don't like it, sell the d700 and keep the lens for your d90. if they're in condition, you won't have trouble off-loading either one of those bodies.

i know it's debatable, but I have not been influenced enough to make the switch to FF. Got too much $$ tied up in my stuff.

If you're not strapped for cash and if you're looking to cover the lengths you have now with FX and possibly sell the DX lens you have for this setup.

D700
17-35 or 14-24
24-70
70-200

Of course you can use FX lens on DX bodies :)

Oh and if you have any $ left over, I can use a few for a 14-24 ;)

buy the D700, I absolutely love mine, but keep the D90 as a backup. Just in case.

...why would you NOT? The viewfinder is reason enough.

Seriously, if money is no object, get a Mamiya RB67 and a 22MP Leafback. Itll blow a D3 outta the water.

Do you have a camera as a back up?
