Thought this might be interesting.
Everyone has different styles of shooting, and everyone has certain things that they think should or should not be done. (variety is the spice of life)
So, what are your pet peeves?
I will share a few of mine:
Pregnancy photos: I dont really care to see your pregnant wife's belly, thanks.
Vignette to white:...
Over Processed: I think there is a point where it ceases to be a photograph.
one more, Square Crops: you dont shoot medium format, stop pretending.
Share yours, and this is not an invitation to start a flamewar either people! Keep it civil. I think we can all learn something from each other to know what we try to avoid in photographic workflow.

Pet peeve - photographers who assume that their way is the ONLY way to shoot.
Photographers that brand-bash.
--------------------------- Nikon D3 | 28-70 f/2.8 | 70-200 f/2.8 VR | 200-400 f/4 VR | 50 f/1.4 | TC-14E II | SB-800 | SB-600 "A child is not likely to find a Father in God unless he finds something of God in his father." - Unknown | | | |

I meant things that you avoid in photos, not what photographers who annoy you. | | | |

HDR, you know, I like it when its done right. It rarely is though, but I can understand the need for it. Digital cameras just dont get real good dynamic range. | | | |

What's this with square crops and MF, the Ricoh GR-DII had 1:1 as an image option.
Pet Peeve: People who have never shot Leicas going on about what's wrong with them.

Sorry, I have a long list... my fault for being so picky.
Leaving some color in a black and white photo
Pics of girls leaning on a red brick wall or in front of a graffitti wall
Pics of flowers in general, with some exceptions
Pics of sunsets (sunrises may be ok)
Pics of cats or closeups of a cat's face
Fake digital grain
Artistic tilts
Head on flash pictures, with some exceptions
Engagement pics of feet. Pics of feet in general
Pics of women with huge boobs in bikinis and seventeen layers of Photoshop processing
Pics of young women on railroad tracks
Closeup of a woman's face with some sprinkles on her lips - actually anything glued to the lips

Uh, oh, I do a couple of the ones on Paco's list (feet and people against graffiti/red walls).
My biggest pet peeve: selective coloring! also, tilted shots when there's not a reason for it. Tilted shots, I think, are done primarily by photojournalists when they are trying to get as much background information into an image to help tell the story. Tilting for just the sake of it in hopes that it makes it pj style, drives me nuts. Oh, and another pet peeve, "glowing" photos. Now, I'm not against anyone that does these things, I just can't stand doing that stuff within my own work. | | | |
