Help - what is this? - 09-25-2009, 10:05 AM

My wife saw this thing right outside our front door this morning. I haven't seen it yet, but she says the white powdery stuff is pretty much just like sand. Looks like there might even be a hole there too. Any idea what it might be or what it means? Something to be worried about?
