I'm definitely going. Not sure how much shooting I can do but will take the camera.
Fletchers jalepeno dogs. I like 'em way better than the regular. And funnel cakes. No fried butter, cheesecake, twinkies, or snickers though.

I'll probably go and it could be a Wednesday. I don't want to follow everyone around all day, but would consider a meet up for lunch and some talk.

Hoping to take at least my oldest son again this year. Usually I focus on photographing him having fun unless I'm on a ride with him trying to keep down my lunch.

Tuesdays is DR Pepper day- bring in an empty DR Pepper can and get in for less than $5, WEd in Kroger Food Bank Day- bring in 3 cans of food and like a $1 to get in- a lot cheaper than $15.
Yeah maybe people can plan to meet at the Fletchers Stand by Big Tex at 12:30 and then decide if they want to eat there or at the Old Mill (nice set down with reasonable prices) or walk over to that big Food Building over towards the Chevy stage just behind the Hall of State. That could be a standing meeting place on Tuesday or Wed.
I plan to attend this Tuesday and maybe Wed of this coming week.

Went yesterday and heading back out in a few minutes today, great weather and a lot to see this year.
Anybody else see the Heisman Trophy, not issued yet, on display?
The BMX guys did a good show though one of the guys took a hard spill during one of his jumps.
Also a lot of temporary art instalations over near the lagoon that is really neat.
Not much of a crowd yesterday, probably bigger today because of the big soccer game in the Cotton Bowl later today.
So maybe if your out there today I will bump into you.

They did judging on hogs, sheep and some cattle yesterday and doing more cattle, chickens and maybe some other animals today and over the weekend.
Crowds picked up after 3 pm because of the soccer games in the Cotton Bowl.
Saw some "parking company" charging to park people on TxDOT land and even CITY of Dallas Land around 7 pm last night and sicked some cops on them, don't know if the cops did anything or not (flagged down a patrol car right by their precinct station on Canton which is a couple blocks from the violation sites). I asked one of the parking guys where his permit was that allowed him to park cars where he was doing it "required by the city and the property owners" he couldn't show one and said to call the cops on his butt-which I DID! SOB probably pocketed over $1,000 since his group on Exposition was charging folks $10 to PARK ILLEGALLY! THE TXDoT land under I-30 bridge clearly had signs all over the place saying that there was no entering the property- hopefully all those people didn't get towed.
The BMX guy who has taken the spill the day before was stiff and could hardly bend his knee through the 2 early shows but he is young- they don't perform on Thursdays so maybe he will be fine for the weekend shows coming up.
Several decent music acts spread around the park performing all day which was nice to see. | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
