I started getting a sore throat last week, around Friday, felt OK Saturday, but Sunday it started to hurt. Sunday night it was burning, and my nose was stopped up.
Monday morning was painful, as it hurt to swallow, and I also blew out some bright yellow mucus from my nose.
My throat is pretty red and swollen. I haven't had a fever yet, but have a slight headache.
My back is a little achey, but I'm not sure if its stiff from laying around all day or from the sickness.
If this gets worse I'm going to have to see my Doc. I hope it doesn't come to that... | | | | | Sponsored Links | Premium Members do not see Google advertisements. SIGN UP today and help support our community.

We share the same symptoms, I went to my doc today and he said it's a summer cold. I dont know about that though, ear arche, body ache, not so great color mucus, and a headache which has been annoying me all day. Yeah, a cold... :\
Hope you feel better | | | |

sounds like a summer cold to me. as long as you dont get a fever, then just wait it out.
something that will help the throat in the long run is gargle with some white vinegar. it tastes like booty and it'll sting for a bit, but in the long run it'll help a lot.

LoL Cecilia, My mom SWEARS by gargling with warm vinegar and salt. I just swear at it. I nearly vomit when I try, and seriously, I'd rather wait it out.
I'm going to have some theraflu before bed, to at least curb the symptoms a bit. I'll keep y'all updated on the status.
The bad thing is, I have an engagement shoot this Saturday.
I hope I'm well enough by then.

Having the same thing, but lost my voice on Friday, Saturday got some of it back to shoot with Janet, Sunday & today, complete lost it again. Went to the doc earlier, he prescribed some pretty heavy duty anti-biotics & mind-numbing syrup, which I can't take till I'm done with my work...it's frustrating.

Eeeewww! (Yeah, that was really girly of me )
I just got out of the shower, and while I was in there I hocked up something large and brown. It was gross. The steam must have broke it loose.
Diagnosis: Sinus Infection.
Or, acute sinusitis? I think I'll make an appointment tomorrow to get some antibiotics to get this thing knocked out.
Ronnie, how insightful of you. How can I ever repay you?

Okay - go to Walgreens and get the Netipot thing... I hadn't ever heard of it before, but holy freaking cow it's amazing.
You can gargle with salt & water versus that other stuff... it works the same.
There's a yucky cold thing going around... antibiotics won't fix viral stuff...

But if it's a sinus infection won't I need antibiotics to kill it?
Believe me, I'm as against medication as one can be, but when it's needed I don't mind taking it for my well being. Perhaps I'll try the netti pot. My friend and sis n' law use it and they say it's great.

Had to take my 15 yr old son to doctor today for the same thing. Upper resp. infection and sinus infection. A shot of antibiotics and script for more and out of school for 3 days. No need taking a chance. Just had a 14 year old girl in Ft Worth that started the same way then she came down with swine flu and she died on Sunday.
Get to the doctor ASAP and get it taken care of. Oh and this girl had no underlying problems. Was healthy as a horse prior to.

^ I don't understand how that happens? How does a healthy person die so soon from that? What exactly does it do?
I thought the major ones at risk of life were babies and elderly...

Thats what her parents thought to. Here is a link to the story. From the story it seems she developed pneumonia on top of the flu which from what I gather is common even with the normal flu.
Pay particular attention to the fact the doctor wouldn't give them Tamiful because the CDC recommends it only be given to those most at risk. So now it makes me wonder if you are healthy and not in the "most at risk" catagory what is a person to do? http://www.star-telegram.com/local/story/1642373.html
