Hotels in Austin - 09-30-2009, 08:20 AM

Can anyone advise what other hotels are around the crowne plaza on Austin. I wanna live to see the morning so nothing too cheap. Perhaps a motel 6 or something...

I thought motel 6 was one of the cheap ones.

Chris anytime I go anywhere that I am staying overnight, I use yahoo maps. I zoom in fairly close to where my projects are going to be then I use the search feature and type in hotel. It brings up all the hotels in the area that I am searching then I do research on those specific hotels.

We recently stayed at the Omni at Southpark, which doesn't appear to be too far from there (I think it was just north of 290 right off 35). Excellent facilities and service. Not too bad for a decent place in Austin; I think we paid $149 and had a great breakfast included.

Hey Chris, I got an interesting proposition for ya. I live in the Austin area, I just signed up for the business part because I can't afford the extra $200 for the whole shin-dig. Anyway, you need a place to stay, and you were going to pay to stay in a hotel. How about staying at my place? I wish I could say I would let you stay for free, but whatever you were going to spend on a hotel and food could go into my pocket-straight to Austin After Dark, so I could attend the full shin-dig. We have a nice Mother in Law floor plan, you would have your own bedroom with a nice queen size bed and your own bathroom, and I could provide breakfast and lunches while you were down here. Would that be worth $200 for ya?

Thanks Dan!

Janice, my partner is coming with me so I just booked the Super 8 for $46 a night. He's going to New Braunfels during the day, and I'll be at the seminar, so we wont be in the room that much. And its just up the service road from the convention center. Two nights for a total of $105, and a free pass to After Dark.... I think I'm happier than a greased pig in a puddle of mud... although we aren't coming in until really early Monday morning. Like 8am...

I CANT WAIT!!!!!

It was, but my measly little 'business' account needs all the help it can get... so I'm sacrificing. Of all the 'cheap' hotels listed on priceline, this one didn't say anything about undocumented workers drinking beer on the corner, or anything about it having a dimmely lit parkinglot, or that the walls were paper thin.

OH! And I'm coming in EARLY on Monday morning because I have to work at the Po Po Dept on Sunday. Couldn't get out of it. We'll be leaving Fort Worth about 4am...
