Oh my! That's a lot of money. I guess you could pay for it with one picture of Brittney or some other star by selling to the tabloids. You could shoot from far enough away that they would never know the picture was taken.

Sure looks like the same lens.

Nah... that's a 600 f4. I don't know what it sells for now but the 800 f5.6 is $11,500ish. I think the 600 f4L IS is around $9k... give or take.

The 1200 f5.6 is a hoss... and it's $100k plus if you can find it. It's also ridiculously heavy and not very useful... definitely not a carry around lens

I asked my wife if I could get one...she said no. Even told her I'd get one for her too...she still said no.

If I go out and buy one anyway, I figure I'm looking at around $300,000:

$120,000 for the lens
$10,000 to switch to Canon body & glass
$10,000 for the divorce lawyer
$160,000 for her half of the house/retirement/alimony/child support...

Guess I'll stick with what I've got.

I'd rather have Sigma's 200-500mm 2.8 lens anyway. Especially at only $25k.

If it came with wheels, maybe.

All of the lenses you guys are talking about are toys compared to the Ziess Apo Sonnar T* 4/1700. (That's a medium format camera body attached in the pictures, if you want a size reference).

Wired--you can see the gray sync cord in the photo if you look closely. Somewhere a long time ago I posted a DIY thread on that. I've since painted it black so it doesn't look quite so ghetto.

Here it is: http://www.texasphotoforum.com/forum...2&postcount=19
