My first critique of his work was the way you suggested. He didn't like it very much and attacked me so therefore when he asked me to find something wrong with these I pointed out a few things followed by a few suggestions.

My suggestions: Watch your exposure, cut down on your sharpening technique and focus on the eyes or shoot in a smaller aperture to allow for more DOF if you are having trouble keeping the eyes in sharp focus.

Lonnie,

Here is my honest critique of the situation, from reading at the other forum. You are a newcomer at the other forum, and no one knows who you are or what experience you have. Yes, the other forum has cliques, but that's a natural result of all groups with a large number of people. So, imagine, a newcomer coming into the group, and then giving only criticisms without compliments. They think, "who are you, and what qualifies you to be such a harsh judge without a single kind word?" No, I'm not saying we shouldn't give constructive criticism, but I agree with Melissa's CC sandwich idea, especially when you are a newcomer.

Then, when some of them disagree with you, you dish out the snarky and sarcastic comments rather quickly. You make the others sound like they gang up on you, but perhaps you don't realize how rude you came off to them as well. Regardless of who may be "right" about the photos, what happened in those threads was a result of an unfriendly attitude.

Note - I'm referring to only what happened in those threads, not in other threads where you discussed other unrelated photos.
