I sat in 217 row 1 (basically right below the picture above) and the sound was HORRIBLE. I cannot get over how bad. Wishing I would have taken camera now. At least I could have enjoyed shooting pics.

Can't believe I spent hundreds of $ to see a concert that sounded like it was played in a cavern or gymnasium. I won't be paying for another concert there, that is for sure.
True, if are serious about music the Myerson is where to go for world class sound.

One of the finest concerts I've heard there was the Kronos string quartet doing Jimmy Hendrick's 'Star Spangled Banner."

Ha! It probably was. I was in 102, row EE. He was down about 10 rows from me.

I took my E-P1 "Pen" to the B-52s show at the Grand 1894 Opera House a few weeks back and got lots of nice (to me) shots. I used the 17mm f/2.8 lens (micro 4/3rds) and a Pentax 50mm f/1.7 lens. No one really gave me a hassle, even though no cameras were allowed (lots of them there, though).

This weekend, I went to see the Allman Brothers at the Woodlands, and they allowed cameras with non-removable lenses (depends on the band). I took the E-P1 in there with the 17mm attached (looks more "point & shoot" like that), and a manual 135mm in my sock. I got busted with the 135 attached, though they just told me to not bring that camera back. It wasn't long enough anyway, and all the shots were crappy. Bottom line, if I don't have good seats, I'm not worrying about it anymore.

I'm going to see Willie Nelson at the Grand in Galveston at the end of November. I'll take my camera again as it's a great venue for music, and not bad for photography.
