Can this be real? Can people be so dumb? Whoa, we better watch out before they come for the Softbox lights, and the Alien Bees, etc for using too much energy....

And California is near bankruptcy.

But I'm sure there's no connection between that and over-regulation. Just one of those things, you know?

Let's look at this:

1) most manufactureres say compliance is relatively easy with little added cost.
2) most manufacturers already comply or will shortly

therefore:
1) if most manufacturers already comply or will soon, it means
2) you can't buy a non-complying unit in the market....

...so why do they need to pass a law, add overhead to the enforcement and legslation areas of the gov't when they don't have enough money to pay the cops already?

It's the land of fruits and nuts. Passing laws just for the appearance of "doing something".

They've already banned tons of other earth-shatteringly harmful stuff. They're on the right track though. TV's will kill ya.

When big screens failed, there's always font projector to consider.

My 32-inch operates in energy saving mode daily, next to my work desk, while i spend Sunday games and occasional Blu-ray goodies on a ~ 250-watts PJ -- half the energy consumption than Plasma, but twice the screen size.
