Thats someone in the Faraday cage in the middle.
The white poles holding up the orange fence are actually regular flourescent tube. They are lit from the charge in the air i believe.
So the way it works is that the charge in the air displaces air molecules like a speaker does. So you can vary the pitch and tone of the sound you hear. Its basically 7 foot high speakers.

Too bad there's ugly orange safety net in your pic, because that tesla coil looks really cool.

I would like to convert a regular grand piano to incorporate tesla coils into its design. I think that some shooting flames coming from it would be good, too, especially if they helped make music (perhaps by making pipes whistle).

Aside from the idea of having a couple of Tesla coils in the neighborhood, I would like to say that these are some good images of something that I would think would be hard as hell to capture well.

I heard the theme from Airwolf, Zelda 1, Super Mario Brothers, Contra 1, Bringing Sexy Back, and some other current songs. dmora added 5 Minutes and 39 Seconds later...Double Post Merged Below
I'm really impressed at the quality of the D700 in this capacity. The colors were amazing. Only post process i did was make sure the white balance was spot on.

very cool..
I personally would be leary of camera damage, with the lightbulbs lighting up from electricity in the air, but I guess it was ok <shrug> | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
