Anybody work at USPS that can give me an accurate idea when this will be delivered? - 10-20-2009, 10:37 AM

I keep hearing it's just a guessing game, but am hoping not. It's coming to my work, and I'm not going to be here Fri, so I'm wanting a more accurate estimation than, "Sometime this week"... lol

Anyone?

Well, I don't work for the USPS, but in my experience, most mail delivered from within the continental US will arrive in 3-4 days.

My experience with the post office is this:

NO, no one has any idea when anything that isn't next day air will be delivered.

It should arrive before Friday, but then again, maybe not.

I can guarantee you that something will happen with your package.

But that's about all I can guarantee, and "something" can range from:
- Getting lost
- Getting trampled on
- Getting delivered
- Getting delivered, but not to you
- etc.

USPS tracking numbers are totally pointless for figuring out a delivery date. The USPS has the WORST tracking system for customers. I'm sure it helps them, but not us!

It's not here yet. According to Marta (at work), unlike UPS and FedEx, USPS doesn't bring her the boxes, they just put them in those locked box holders in the mail room, and put the key in our mailbox. I am fairly sure this box will be bigger than those little holders, so there is no telling if I will actually get it. I should have been more patient and just sent it to my house, but everything else I've gotten here came fine. I've just never used USPS, and didn't know they were different (read: difficult). :(

*Edit: It also wasn't my shipping choice. I am getting a basically new 7MDH for $80 shipped, which is crazy, so I wasn't going to argue shipping methods (not that I knew I needed too)... :(

There is one time where it helped me. For a brief moment on the USPS web page they admitted they lost the package. I took a screen shot, forwarded to Amazon.com and Amazon UPSed out a new product. The original never did show up. Go figure.

It has been mentioned, the USPS tracking numbers are pretty much useless in trying to keep up with your package and get an ETA.

The method of shipping will provide a better idea as to when it will arrive from USPS. If it was shipped priority or express, I expect it to arrive within 3 days if shipped by noon, so if it shipped monday, I would expect thursday. Again, these are just expectations and there has been a couple of times where it arrived on day 5.

They updated? Well, keep in mind that they will ship it from Dallas to Phoenix to Nashville, and then to Austin!
