"These are my thoughts, nothing more and nothing less.
I get asked all the time, during workshops, in e-mails, in private messages, what words of wisdom I would give to a new and aspiring photographer. Here's my answer." By Cheryl Jacobs Nicolai What Every Aspiring Photographer Should Know

Very well put.
I know - as someone new to this - that I really struggled getting to a place where I could 'get' some of what she wrote... I tried to make 'me' over... as if there was something wrong with being 'me' when it comes to being a photographer...I wanted to be like someone else...until I realized... that the best asset I have... is myself. *grin*

At least now I don't feel awkward when I tryout things that other photogs would frown upon. And yes saying No is better a lot of times.
One thing that strikes me is that a lot of her points do apply to other profession as well.
Thanks for the link John. | | | |

Thanks for the article. Seems every time I get the urge to buy, someone post one of these and I realize I need to learn to use what I have before I move on to new stuff. Thank you so much!

I'm printing this out and taping it to my bathroom mirror so that I can read it while I'm getting dressed before every shoot!
