Canon 7D

so have any of you seen or bought or used this camera yet?

it is basically a upgrade for the 50D people but why did they call it 7D and not 60D? =/

it is still a cropped sensor ... but it records HD video like the T1i and 5D mk II

Look in the "equipment talk" section. There are at least a couple of threads on some of the pluses and minuses. It sounds like it's a major turn from the 50D as far as some of the additional features.

The name is a new direction for Canon, too.

Quick answer: It isn't a 50D upgrade. Naming it "60D" would have implied such.

ok maybe I'm not 100% understanding this 7D ... I know it have 18mp, new metering system, and 19pt AF, and HD video recording? this qualify it as a different breed...I wonder where Canon is going with this new change / breed of camera
