I have an iTouch and a 5th generation 160 gig iPod. The iTouch has great apps and with wireless I can do a lot with it. I can check email, my bank balance, etc. I also have the Kindle app which allows me to download books and read them on the iTouch. Kindle books are very small (less than 200kb). The other plus of the iTouch is that it has a bigger screen.

Downside: Cannot store nearly enough of my music, television and movies on it. I have about an 1/8 of my music and only a couple of movies for when I am sitting somewhere and need something to do. Plus, because of the larger screen, I burn through the battery quicker than I do with my regular iPod.

I envy those who pop out the I touch and show great renditions of their favorites images.

Which model is best for this ?

The iTouch will do almost everything the iPhone will do (I have both), except make phone calls....and even that you can work around with wifi and skype. The only other thing, and I haven't really tested this, is the GPS functionality. I do geocaching with my iPhone, and the app 'works' on my iTouch, although not sure how maps would be updated without contact to the internet in areas without wifi....something that is updated via 3g on the iPhone.

Regards,
Sean
p.s.- and yeah, I bought one mainly to show photos instead of carrying a bulking album/portfolio everywhere. But, I also find it convient to check my email, facebook, myspace, stocks, etc, BEFORE I decide to get out of bed. Now if I could only find a way for it to relieve itself ;)

Download the iPee app. You'll wet your pants it is so cool.

The iTouch is awesome. I wish I had the 32 GB version (we have the previous 8GB). Games are pretty fun and it's nice to use WiFi rather than having to pay the iPhone service each month. That said, I'm hoping to eventually get an iPhone.

I would get the 160 gig ipod if you want to store music and movies. If/when I get a little classic convertible (like an old MG), I will use an ipod plugged directly into an amp, instead of changing out the old radio for a giant "steal me" radio in the dash. I can hide the ipod in the center console or in the glove box or take it with me... But, if I wasn't concerned about massive storage capability, the touch is much more versatile.

now with the latest 64gig ipod touch it is a very good combination of storage capacity and usability. I mean my first classic iPod was a 40gig one and that was the biggest you could get haha

The one with the most memory, of course!

I like the Coleman lantern and Stanley level, too--they're free.
