I wasn't saying that.. I was saying that P will not get that shot right. Ever. Knowing your equipment and how to make a proper exposure is paramount.
Me, personally, I will switch freely between Av and M modes on my camera, depending on the situation.. and the only reason I can go to Av mode and get consistent results is because I know why the camera is making those choices.
Now, on my wife's P&S (which does have Av and M modes, I made sure of that), I will often put it in P mode.. because often when I'm using that camera, I'm making snapshots where its just not important other than to get a halfway decent shot of someone or something... so it does have its place.
And I think maybe P for Professional is probably too harsh... maybe it should be P for Prayer.. you Pray that it comes out halfway decent.
