Any Words of Wisdom Before My Trip? - 11-10-2009, 01:42 AM

I'm packing for the trip I hope to start in the morning. It's an 8-day, 2000 mile trip across Texas and New Mexico. I plan to visit Bottomless Lakes State Park, Roswell, White Sands, Deming, Wyler Aerial Tram, Big Bend, Enchanted Rock State Park and Seminole Canyon State Historical Park. I plan to see the mouth of the Pecos River at the Rio Grande.

I'm kind of on the fence about the advice posted here!

Just have fun and be safe.

Batteries, batteries, and something to keep you gear dry. Don't forget to check you bags one more time before you go too!

These two comments are priceless. One is pure tongue in cheek (thank you Chris), and the other is just plain funny without even knowing it.

You probably don't remember the signs in businesses along US 287 back in the Land Before Time:

"No shoes, No shirt, No service."

Words to live by.

As for the itinerary, when are you going to visit the Panhandle and northern New Mexico? Seems like the best part of NM is north of I-40.

But that's just me. It's your time & gas. Enjoy! Have fun! Show us the G rated photos.

This has to be one of the funniest comments made regarding photography advice.

Honk twice if you come through Clovis, we'll stand out there by the road and wave.

Oh, and have fun.

Yeah, you say Big Bend, but that's a big area. I don't know where you're going to end up, but if you've got the time and the river's up enough, stop in at Desert Sports in Terlingua and sign up for a day trip rafting through Santa Elena canyon. One of the most beautiful things in the world you can do in one day.
