Any Recruiters Out There That Need Employees? Just got terminated from my job! - 11-10-2009, 08:44 PM

Hey guys,

I was just terminated from my job and wanted to know if there are any recruiters or managers out there who might need a position filled. I have a resume and don't mind sending it out, so please let me know. My e-mail address is David-Gastelum@hotmail.com

Thank you!!

Sorry to hear about that and wish I could be of help. Depending on your line of work, the pickings online are slim. Now's a good time to reconnect to former employers and co-workers to revamp your network.

A couple of pointers; let people know what line of work you are in and don't use the word "terminate" unless you were fired for cause, my guess is that you were laid off. Seems like a small thing, but not for a hiring manager.

Good luck in your search.

Thanks for the info./help guys!! I'm e-mailing Mr. Whatley right now.

Well, they told me they were "reconstructing, reorganizing" I'm not sure what that means, but they didn't mention that it was something I did to lose this job. I do know that some people received promotions the same week and they mentioned they were "reconstructing" I also know that for the position I was in that I was making the most amount other than managers..not sure if that was also a reason. I have an interview tomorrow so wish me luck!!!

I'm sorry to hear about your being laid off--I've been there and I know how you feel. Good luck and hang in there.

Well, I'm pretty open to anything. I used to be a Therapy Coordinator at a home health agency and have also been with First American Title, which deals in Title Insurance before you purchase a home. In Texas, I have only had 2 jobs..the ones I just listed. I moved here from California 3 years ago, so I don't have many ex co-workers that I still keep in contact with..and moving back to CA is not an option .

Thanks for the kind words everyone!! I will let you know how my interview tomorrow goes.

Actually, this is true!

McDonald's Gitmo is hiring!

"The McDonald's franchise at the Guantanamo Bay Naval Base in Cuba is looking for an assistant manager. The ideal candidate will have previous restaurant management experience, a valid U.S. passport and a willingness to relocate to Cuba. Apparently, no special security clearance is required. Perks include great weather, potential tax free status for year-round residents, and half of the successful candidate's stateside rent paid by the company. The Gitmo McDonald's has been in operation since 1986, and serves the base's 6000 inhabitants, including military personnel, their families, Jamaican and Filipino guest workers. and 215 detainees, who can make take-out orders for Big Macs, fries and other items."

Gotcha! OK, maybe he could supervise inmates making those funky new license plates (if it's a state prison).
