The Marines had their day yesterday with the Marine Corps birthday, and I thank you all for your comments, but today is for all veterans. Veterans Day means many different things to many different people. For some it's a day to remember their service and all it meant, for others it's a day to remember loved ones and sometimes lost ones. For some it's both. And for others it's just a day off from work, or not even that.
Whatever it means to you, take a moment to think about your life and how you're able to live it in the peace and security of this great nation. Think about the many things you don't have to worry about that other countries do. It's been on many a bumper sticker, but the proverb rings true: freedom isn't free.
So today, I ask that you take 5 minutes out of your day, watch this video and in your hearts thank everyone who's out there standing where many won't.
