Canon Rebel XS or Nikon D60 - ???

OK, here's the deal, I have accumulated reward points from various sales promotions and contests through my work and I have the opportunity to choose one of these cameras with my points. They are new and come with the standard 18-55mm lens. I want to throw this out to my fellow photogs - which one should I choose?

Exactly. Plus I think the XS is a little better than the D60. The D60 is just a suped-up D40x. No live view, No AF with Primes, No ability to use it with a grip, no ISO 100, the Canon XS dosent have these problems.

Canon XS. Then sell it to a newbie and put it toward glass or accessories you've been wanting.

since it costs him nothing, it is a chance for him to experience a different brand - altho yes, the kit lens compared to primes is like night and day (which I'm sure he already knows)

from what I understand, the live-view function is not all that great, similiar to the D5000 which isn't all that great. Sony's live-view beats'em both hands down.

the auto-focus issue may or may not be an issue depending on the Canon lenses he already has

now if he's thinking re-sale, I would have to say the XS - there's already the D5000 and D3000 out after the 60

he did ask - so there is either a hint of doubt or he's just curious and has leftover popcorn...

Entry-level Canon bodies autofocus with every Canon EF and EF-S lens.

Really? Why do you say that? I own a Sony A300 and I dont find it better than the D5000's because it isnt sensor based.
