It's now the Holiday season and time for my annual pilgrimage to Corsicana for Fruit Cakes.

Don't say you don't like Fruit Cake if you've never had one from the Collin Street Bakery, food of the Gods.

Lol, I love Collin St Bakery and will probably stop there on my way to Houston in a couple of weeks. I actually am one of the few, along with my mom, that likes fruit cakes. Their other stuff is good, too.

I HATE fruit cake but my grandpa (who lived in IA) gave CS fruit cakes as business Christmas gifts back in the '70s. Mom recycled the tins as cookie containers.

Well, a Collin Street fruit cake is a totally different cake than all the others out there. Not one of those lead brick cakes, but actually very edible. One of my siblings or myself gets one for my mom every Christmas. We pass around the task, so she doesn't know who it's coming from each year.

No. But I have dropped adequate hints. Unfortunately, people here do not savor fruitcake as much as I.
