I think if the photographer would have crouched down just a bit and gone a bit to their left.

The photographer should have used a different location... like a swanky hotel or a night club. Throw in some blue gels and it would have been perfect. (photoshoping out the wrinkles obviously)

Yep, and I probably would of used a different model and gave it the Tracy Hicks treatment.

Oh wait, why are we critiquing a photographers image when they didn't even ask our opinion?
I actually like the image as is.

I dont see whats wrong with it myself. I think the emotion is what matters here, not anything else.

I just think that if he would have included a bit more of the ladies face it would have shown a bit more of the emotion, if he was trying to show poverty the kitchen looks like a lot across america.

If you read the story -- it is not trying to show poverty in Mexico, it is saying that Mexican's are sending money north. I have looked at this image a few times, and I don't really see poverty, or dispair. I do see the emotion through the symbolic tissue to the face, and in actuality I see a very well crafted photo. Each of the items in the photo seems to have it's symbolic place. Fresh sweet breads on the table. Sunlight emphasizing modern appliances in the kitchen. The cabinets in that kitchen aren't bare, they are just not there; they don't exist. This woman is not living in luxury, but she is not impoverished either.

If the photographer moves down and to the left, I am not sure you get all that information.

Nevermind -- I'll take care of it myself!
