These are a bunch of FEMA trailers but if they sell for under $2,000 pretty cheap since they are furnished and ready to be occupied.

They are in east texas area so need to figure out how much to have it delivered to your location.

Somebody should get a deal off of these FEMA things (can't really say what my opinion of FEMA is since we can't talk politics here) and if it is to be used just a few weeks a year there shouldn't be much of a formaldyhyde problem and that would probably all outgas over the next year anyway.

If you click on an individual trailer it shows some exterior and interrior shots. Heck new refrigerator and stove along with furniture would be worth more than some of the current bids.

Typical of the USgovernment to lump these things into a lot of 470 so the average tax payer can't get any use out of them. On the other hand, it might take a dozen to get one in useable condition.

As they are and in the huge lot, the only thing they will be good for is scrap.

Like the decommissioned military ships they sell.

I don't know what you are looking at but there are INDIVIDUAL units being sold-Many are listed as 2008 TL INDUSTRIES SPF1134 PARK MODEL (which is one unit). These are trailers that were built but just taken to a storage yard and never installed so they are just weathered which would be normal anyway. I've noticed prices have gone up some overnight but many are still under $2,000, now there is one lot of 6 units that has damage and missing items and to me the price that they are bid up to is a quite high but the rest look like single items since they have individual bid prices. (now they may have an option to bid on all of the units at X per unit so that any that don't reach that # would be sold in that big lot).

I wonder if i could pull one of those with a 3/4ton truck? Some of those prices are sheap enough to buy one just to resell it here.

They are not real huge, the dimensions are shown, but probably are a bit heavy but probably less than a lot of 5th wheelers. If you have a diesel and not going on any steep grades a 3/4 ton truck may just be able to haul them. When I was in New Orleans a couple years ago and met a crew that was installing the Katrina trailers they were using big pickups to haul those units but they were more like travel trailers than these being sold. (that crew is the group that led me to finding out about all of the trailers that were setting in storage yards in Mississippi and east Texas while people were waiting for them along the coast -not enough crews to install them at the time but FEMA was stockpiling the trailers like crazy but these are all more recent units that it looks like FEMA overbought and are selling off for some reason).
OK I see where the 470 unit sale is (of used units mixed in with new) but if you look at the left hand side of the page at the bottom there is a sale of 159 or so trailers and those are individual units and they are not ones that were ever installed since the frig's are shown still taped shut. Also this lot of 470 is in Purvis Mississippi and I would bet that they are all Katrina trailers that there is no way that I would buy one of those except for scrap since they were just shoved out of the factory as quick as they could build them and then stored at this purvis lot (I have shots of this lot with several thousand Katrina trailers on it that I took several years ago and even the guys installing them at several thousand $'s a shot said that many of them were poorly put together) and FEMA was accepting anything that the factory sent them and paying full price. These are the trailers that had all the formaldehyde problems that caused all sorts of problems to the occupants.

On most of those 5k is not meeting the reserve but 7k is. So keep the reserve price in mind when bidding

So much for making a good profit off of them. I didn't notice the reserve price.

Didn't notice that there was a reserve on these but still the original cost of them was probably well over $10,000, that big group of travel type trailers were all in the $30,000 per unit cost range when they were tossed out of the factories for Katrina and I bet they will take a huge loss on thoe, but in FEMA money that is just peanuts.

If you find a few in good shape -- 6-7k for a trailer is not a bad price. Just not really a super deal
