Has anyone been there? They are supposed to be rededicating it and reopening the George H.W. Bush section. I was thinking about taking the kids there this weekend, but is it worth the 3 hour drive? I love history, especially WWII history. I am kinda eager to see some of the artifacts they have there and compare them to the pictures that I have of the ones from the Pearl Harbor Memorial.

Haven't been there in ten years, but I would think it would be well worth the trip.

I've been there several times...It takes me about three leisurely days to see everything...It is well worth the trip and I plan to go again...My problem is it's not much fun alone...This an appropriate day to visit it and to remember all those who gave their lives in the Pacific War...

I'd love to see the new section...My favorites are the recreation of Doolittle's mission (B-25 on the Hornet's deck with all the sound and fury) and the Jap midget sub...Have fun if you go...Ben

I love WWII history, specifically Pacific Theater history. I even used one of my free elective classes in Journalism to take a history research class so I could write about the Pacific.

It is very cool, and well worth the visit, although I haven't been since I really started studying it. My dad said they redid a bunch of stuff in there. Maybe I can drop the wife and mom off in Fredericksburg to look at crap I dont want to look at so I can get a day in the museum soon.

Was there a few months ago and today, Pearl Harbor Day, I believe is the re-dedication and George W is supposed to be there.

It does have a lot to see and is worth the trip if you like historical items. There is also a lot of antique shops right there if you're into that. (I'm not, but the main street is still a good stroll.)

I drove around it 2 weeks ago. I didn't have time to stop inside, but I shot a few shots of the front and back. Fredericksburg looks like an interesting place.

If it's more than a daytrip, try to book Ab Butler's Dogtrot...It's on the Truckman Highly Recommended List......Ben

Great Place, make sure you eat at Der Lindenbaum just down from it. The Japanese Gardens at the Museum are wonderfully photogenic. Been there multiple times, well worth the trip.

I haven't been since I was a kid, but I want to go back. I was in Fredericksburg on Sunday, and wanted to go to the museum, but couldn't find parking, etc. (Plus, I really drove up to see the warbirds at the airport.) I'm planning a trip back up on a weekday.

I always end up eating at Cranky Franks BBQ when I'm in Fredericksburg. It's the best :)

Another learning moment for the kids. :) Go for it. FYI if anyone is ever near Louisville, KY, The Patton museum at Ft Knox is very good.

Might want to make sure you have a fresh oil change before starting the stretch across the atlantic too.
