How cool is THIS! I've lived in small towns before, but they've never done this before. About 15 minutes ago I was watching TV and heard a mess of sirens. As they got closer, I walked outside and saw this coming up the street. They had "I want a hippopatomus for Christmas" BLARING on the PA system, and Santa Clause was riding on the truck. He even threw stuffed animal toys from the top of the truck to all the kids who came outside!!! They do this in our neck of the woods every year... and they throw candy to the kids... it's usually after dark...and you hear the sirens going... it's hilarious because you aren't sure if someone's house is burning down, or Santa is coming! |

They used to do this in the town I've worked in for awhile, but they'd do it during the day. I would think (as noted above) that sirens and lights at night would be more of a shock than a pleasant surprise. |
