Any bets on how many departments will buy these, then ruin the entire low-profile lighting arrangement with a big rectangular halogen spotlight in the middle of the roof?

All of the lights for this car are integrated into the body I hope nothing gets put on the roof. I've been watching this car for a little over a year. Pretty amazing. It's being built specifically for law enfocrement intsead of modifying a current model car. I wish my department would get em but I'll probably be in a crown vic forever. Pretty sweet upgrades for this car such as armor plating for the doors and 360 degree video capability.

Edit: Misread! Thought you said lightbar not spotlight.

I'll have to see if I can get a few shots of Stephenville PDs sleek new Chargers with their low-profile lightbars and aerodynamic antennas...and the huge frickin' box spotlight sticking up a foot out of the middle of the roof.

Might as well stick a satellite dish up there too.

The car was cool with all the lights, but the video just couldn't end fast enough for me. Maybe the music was getting to me... I don't know.

Were those Suicide doors?
Pretty sweet little car. It'll be interesting to see these on the road.

Wow that's has to be ugly. I'd definately like to see a pic of that. From a functional standpoint I see the reasoning because it allows greater lighting angle to the passenger side of you car in a one light set up. Still I'd hate to be on patrol with a spotlight front and center on my roof lol.

Yes, I noticed that too. It has me wondering, if the vehicle is specifically designed for law enforcement, what is the reasoning for the back doors being "suicide" doors? I can see that they do open extremely wide, which would make it easier to get bad guys in and out of the back seat, but is that the only reason?
Also, is the engine compartment and drivers compartment lined with some kevlar for that "extra" bit of protection? I'm not saying are they bullet proof, that would be weight prohibative, but at least a couple of layers to slow rounds down so they cause less damage.

Is that an integrated MDC in the console? And the control box for the lights in the steering wheel, that's cool.

Of course, the only one I saw on the road was in traffic with nowhere to pull over, but they did have one sitting in the PD lot with the older style bar and the ugly spot. Apparently, the day shift guys complained enough that they moved most of them to the cars with the older, slightly blockier lightbar, and now it's only the guys who get last pick on night shift that get stuck with them.

Not the best pic, but a car just sitting there in a parking lot wasn't worth getting out in the cold to get a better angle on :)
