Have your doc write you a script for Pataday (anti-allergy eye drop). The stuff absolutely rocks and your eyes will thank you.

You might check into Singulair with your doctor. It works differently than most allergy meds and doesn't contain an antihistimine. I've been on it for a year or so and my allergy issues have dropped almost to nothing regardless of the time of year and the amount of pollen or mold in the air at any given time.

Can't take any decongestants because if I do, I get sinus infections. I pretty much have to ride out the season med free....

The Singular isn't a decongestant. It works somehow by blocking the allergic reaction at the receptors. If you're interested, I'll get more info from the pharmacy fellow.

Relief... - 01-03-2010, 04:22 PM

Having lived in the Hill Country for over 20 years, one of the things I did to cope with cedar pollen is to take a Q-tip, coat generously with Vaseline and coat the inside of my nose. Sounds gross, but endorsed by one of my friends who is a Dr and has similar problems. Dramatically cuts back on the amount of pollen that makes it up into your sinus cavity, which in turn triggers histamine production causing stuffy nose. May want to check with your own Dr or Pharmacist before doing it. All I know is it works for me.
