I posted a picture on my fb of our new house that's in the framing process and someone asked me why the pink on the framing lumber does anybody know the answer.

My guess is that is Owens corning Quietzone treated lumbar. It defiantly is some sort of treated lumber

No, definitely not treated, at all. Precut studs are this color for identification.

^indeed. You don't have to measure each one and make sure it's a wall stud. Just grab and go. Plus when they're up and there's no drywall up, they're easily seen and you get less run-ins

They came from a lumber yard owned by women.

I thought they knew I liked pink and did it special for me. I would love to see pink tarp, I would buy it just for the color.
Funny nobody said anything about the fridge sitting by the lumber, you can't see it but they also have a microwave next to the t-pole.

Just to confirm what was already said, it's a meaningless dye that at one time was added to studs as a marketing gimmick. By now, I don't the mills even remember why this was ever started and are just continuing out of habit.

Most probably simply that mills stud grading ID method.
It's not at all unusual to see studs that color. I just never questioned why.
The mill probably visually ID's it as something like; 92 5/8 #2 spruce, or whatever.
My thought.....
