Who is doing any photo projects in 2010?
They can be anything from a photo-a-day goal to something more complex.
Their main goal is to get you shooting, even force you to shoot, and stretch your abilities and creativity.
I've set myself 3 photo project goals for 2010:
1) 2010 in 2010: I will take a total of 2,010 images in 2010 that will be posted to a special album/catalog. (that’s an average of about 39 a week) These will not be shots to take a shot, but ones actually worthy of posting. A year end plan for this project is to make a book of the images. I also want to make a collage set of the images (probably a set of 11×14 prints of thumbnails) to hang on the walls.
2) Project 52 Hours: Every week I want to devote a solid hour to a photography event: Either a photowalk, an experimental session, or a class/meeting. I’ll probably end up joining one of the local photography clubs again, which have monthly meetings. I expect alot of the images from these endeavors will end up in the 2010 in 2010 project. Unlike the 2010 in 2010 project though, these hours cannot all be pre-done or doubled up (i.e. I can’t skip a week and do 2 hours in one week). Let’s see how long this will last.
3) Project 365 Up: Alot of people do a Project 365, aka a “Photo-A-Day” project, and I will do one also, but it will be a bit different. At first I was thinking of doing a Project 365 Sky, where I took a picture of the sky (or moon or clouds, etc) everyday - but here in Houston we can have a week solid of gray skies and rain, so that would get boring. So I instead changed it to “Up,” which can include the sky but also include other things you see when looking directly up. So this can be interesting. I’m sure many of these will end up in the 2010 in 2010 project. I also expect to take most of these with my iPhone camera instead of my DSLR, and in fact I may decide to do them all this way.
I've already got sets ready for them on Zooomr: http://www.zooomr.com/photos/steelsun/sets/

Brian, I like your 2010 Photo Projects ideas. I plan on doing the 365 project again. I did not do so well at it last year because of new job interference. Haven't thought about something like your "Up" project. It could be interesting, but I think I'll keep it simple and just stick with the "Photo-A-Day" project.

These sound like great projects Brian. I really like the 52 hours idea. I haven't decided on a project for 2010. It will mainly be a move to film and learning how to really use a camera. I imagine something will present itself over time.

Create a new art piece once a week in the new year.
Finish outstanding project.

I'll see your "UP" and raise...er..lower(?) you a "DOWN". I was thinking of a 365 of my feet and where they are that day. :)
I love your 52 hours idea too. That's a great goal.

Just become a wedding photographer. You'll take 2,010 photos in ONE evening, then spend 52 hours editing them!

I have an old Canon T50 with two crappy lenses. May try anyway one day, maybe make a permanent rig with my old Brownie to make a film TTV.

The 3 types of photog jobs I no longer chase after: 1) weddings, 2) portraits, & 3) events. I've come to the conclusion that I just don't like taking pics of people posing. Weird, I know.
I know I will take way over 2010 photos next year: 1) Will be spending 2 weeks in Alaska - that will do it by itself, 2) I have a couple of gigs involving A&M football, that will do it itself, and 3) I have a couple of clients that I am shooting catalogs and commercial stuff for next year, and that will probably do it (5 different angles of each product, etc).
The object will be to get them narrowed down and spread throughout the year and be quality. I don't want 200 of my 2010 shots to be the same thing (or even the same chapter in a book). I think my goal is that I would rate each one worthy to print out and put on my wall, and I am picky.

Don't be scared. | Hmmm, might have to do that.
The thing that scares me the most is how much money I'll burn through in developing the film.

My wife just picked up a roll of 120 developed and printed by Wal-Mart for a $1.44.
All you need is a decent scanner.

I *plan* on doing a 365 strobist project. My goal is to become better using flash. I have a couple of Vivitars, a Canon 430 EX (which were all bought through TPF, btw), and some cheap eBay triggers. The subject doesn't matter, as long as I'm using flash.
I also thought about doing something for/through/with Help Portrait, but I think that's bigger than one person. It's a great cause.

Mine is slightly different... 11 images in 2010. One for each month except December. Each of those is to be entered as a PPA print competition print. Hey, it's a goal.
