Also known as millimeter scanning.
They are coming to US and foreign airports.
Some claim Human Rights violations.
Some claim child porn violations.
It's going to be more than your film getting exposed.

Guess it's grin and bear it ...

No biggie, I'll just put tin gobos with the faces of certain dignitaries in my back pockets for 'em to look at

On the issue of them looking at my junk? Well it IS millimeter scanning, so I suppose it could work.

After the first 400 400 lb people that the guy scans and looks at he will get very bored with his job, kid of like a Dr looking at naked people, not that big a deal.

BTW when this was first talked about around a year ago people got all upset because someone may see that they have a wart on their backside, it ain't that detailed, but if you have jewelry on the bits and pieces they probably would pick that up.

Yeah it's a bit of a touchy subject but if EVERYBODY goes through the scanner it will be no big deal, they are working on one that takes just a couple seconds instead of 30-45 that the current ones take and they are thinking of incorporating a sniffer function to pick up chemical residue indications.

Now when they can tell me how full my bowels are then that is a bit too much!

I'd rather be looked at naked, than seen in 10,000 pieces as I'm blown up in a plane.

People need to get over themselves.

Anyone who has issues with the scanners can board plane 2 - where the other people who don't want to get scanned are going to be... including the two guys who asked for the 'pat down' knowing that their groin area can't be touched out of 'personal space' issues...

Strange, all the items they missed were not on the body. They were carry on. go figure.

I disagree with you on this. Every time I board a plane, I am treated as a second-class citizen. Like a criminal in my own country.

I am demeaned and interrogated. That is NOT what this country is about.

Where does it end, though? The answer is that it won't.

They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety.

You're right, it won't end. We are so good at making knee-jerk reaction policy changes because it makes people feel better.

The truth is that most people don't care about anything unless it affects them directly, hence many people across the country are saying "Big deal, search me, scan me, who cares." The majority of those people aren't international travelers, so the latest changes don't affect them.

But make those same people have to check all of their personal belongings when they fly across the country because the last terrorist used a backpack strap cushion to hide an explosive device on a domestic flight -- then see who screams.

What will we do if the next guy uses a camera or cell phone? Yep, you guessed it...no more carry on cameras or cell phones.

I just think proactive security is better than reactive. Yes, we will always have to react and adjust after an incident. But c'mon, no blankets or pillows on laps, can''t go to the restroom an hour before landing, full body scans for my 93 YO Grandmother?!?

All that does is take away just a little bit more of our freedom and move us one step closer to the same world our terrorists live in.

If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck & quacks like a duck... we''ll waste billions of dollars testing all the other animals just so we can "weed-out" the ones that do not meet the requirements to be a duck... and STILL miss the duck.

I just want to know why the local Gun store can do a background check in under 5mins flat in order to sell me a gun, but the frigging international airport system can't do any sort of cursory check on people?
