Hello … trying something different and was wondering if I can get a little feedback. I ran across a guy (Terry) that makes “bent objects” so I asked him if he would mind if I gave it a try and he said go for it ...

here are the results so far … Rick Hoffart Photography - Galleries

I'm looking for some feedback from someone other then my wife and daughter. Thanks

Rick

Your watermark needs to have the opacity reduced - it's hard to see the details of the images because of it.

It's an interesting idea though.

"Ding! Fries are done!" comes to mind.

I don't get it. I doubt that I will. That may be more my problem than a problem with your photographs.

Hey … it might be a success … because I don’t get most of the crap they call “art” also.

Hello,

I checked out your photos, and I do like them.

Pros : Composed well, nice color, executed well technically. It's also a clever idea, a creative concept, and you've clearly put some thought into the setups.

Cons : Both of them look to me like they've been shot in a studio, although the setups look to be modeling an environment in real life. I think it's the lighting. For example, the first one appears to be set in an alley. I would expect dark shadows and weird lighting in an alley, but the lighting is very even and soft. I dunno, just my opinion.

Overall I think you've done a good job.

Both were shot on a dining room table, each shot took about a week to construct (a few hours a night). The first shot “bad food” has 4 different lights (two LED Christmas lights red & blue, and two small battery powered lights) and was exposed for 30 seconds. The other shot was also exposed for 30 seconds to get the right effect from the train light with two fires of the flash on the subject during exposure. Each scene was shot about 50 times before tear down and on some of the darker ones (better mood, feel) too much detail in the wire was lost … thanks a ton for your comment, this is what I was looking for …
