I mean the seats are good but $500 for a Cowboys/Philly playoff ticket along with parking and food and beer prices is a bit steep. Jeeze a family of four would run you over $2200 after all is counted up not counting any clothing that is being sold at the stadium.
So setting at the new Stadium or a new 52inch TV? | | | | | Sponsored Links | Premium Members do not see Google advertisements. SIGN UP today and help support our community.

The excitement that comes from being at the game will wear off after a few days. Several years of enjoyment will come from that new TV.

There are cheaper tickets by the way but to get the same visual as the TV you would need to get the $500 tickets.
Also it wouldn't hurt so bad if you loose.
Now if I could bring a nice camera and a 300 2.8 and some tele's then that would be a different story!

We got offered 2 tickets to the BCS game - decent seats, $1500/ticket. Now, my husband is a UT-Law grad, avid football fan, but even he weighed the cost of $1500/ticket x 2, airfare x 2, hotel, rental car, meals, etc., etc., etc. and we realized we could spend a week at a beautiful villa in St. Lucia for less. So, that was what we decided to do. Will be watching the game at home. Even with something less than a 52" TV, we're happy with that choice.

Add it to my Leica M9 fund. Why spend money to watch people voluntary have concussions?

One of the DMN guys commented that the new stadium is not less noisy just because it's so much bigger--the "idle rich", as he put it, are the only ones that can afford to go, and they aren't as rowdy.
Food for thought.

There's also a third option - save the $2200 and watch it on what ever is currently in the house.

For $2200 I can think of a lot better things to do than watch the Cowboys! Bahamas, 1/2 of a new D3, elective surgery...

We'll be watching on our current TV. A new TV won't make the Cowboys loss any less painful for fans.
Uh, I meant to say "Cowboys victory."

The lure of seeing the Pitons from the deck of the villa was just too strong this year. But, BVI ran a very strong 2nd for us and there were some beautiful places we looked at renting.

It's the memory that you'll have which is priceless. I'm not a cowboys fan but when you look at the bigger picture:
first playoff game at the new stadium
(correct me if i'm wrong but) first home playoff game this millenium
it gets no bigger than the opportunity to take down your division rival who's been spanking you for years (until recently).
You'll be able to talk about this day for a very long time.
I was at the superdome for the Saints first game after Katrina. $900 for a ticket and it was worth every penny. BTW i'll be in attendance tomorrow so if you don't go I can relay the experience...from an Eagles POV though

I no longer enjoy overpriced tickets, cramped seats, overpriced parking fees. walking from Timbuktu to get there, buying 2 beers when I can buy a 12pk for the same price at the store. I think I'll stay at my new home, cold beer in the fridge, hot pizza in the oven, comfortable chair, and best of all NO line at the bathroom. | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
