Thor (Marvel Comics and Kenneth Branagh) was just announced for a May 2011 date...

and so was a new Pirates of the Carribean movie.

As I read through that list, I can't help but think "Has the movie industry run out of ideas?" It seems that every new movie I seem come out is just a sequel or a rehash of an old story.

yOU BEAT ME TO IT. i HAVEN'T EVEN SEEN THE list. Yes. They ran out of ideas ages ago. That wouldn't be so bad if they were picking GOOD old movies to remake. Notice how all the really good movies seem to be off limits?

I keep waiting. They don't do it. Maybe some day.

I look at that list and think Who in the world thought that should be a movie, AGAIN! They Live, Ghostbusters, Total Recall, and Robocop to be specific. CGI does not make a bad idea good.

Don't see much on that list that really interest me but there is one that is supposed to released this year that I will go see and that is Run Baby Run, The Nicky Cruz Story. If any one read this book back in the '70s you will not what I'm talking about.

WHAT?! You can't remake Flash Gordon! That's one of the best bad movies of all time!

The Cross and the Switchblade... I stayed in their Teen-Challenge house in NY for a night back in '78.

However I'd like to see what they would do with the special effects for Green Lantern.

They Live wasn't that bad. It starred former WWF wrestler "Rowdy" Roddy Piper.

Plus in South Park episode 502 "Cripple Fight", they parodied the fight scene from the movie. To create that infamous Cripple Fight scene, they actually animated Jimmy and Timmy shot-for-shot, right over that ridiculously long and drawn-out fight scene from "They Live". I'm sure John Carpenter was thrilled.
